As of Febuary 28, 2026
The following General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all business relationships between Katharina Gleißberg and the client (client, customer, or student).
The version of the GTC valid at the time the contract is concluded shall apply. A contract is formed as soon as the client (or, in the case of persons lacking legal capacity, their legal representative) makes use of a therapy service and agrees to binding appointments. The subject of the contract comprises services of any kind that are advertised on the website or individually agreed upon.
Any conflicting, supplementary, or deviating general terms and conditions are excluded unless their applicability has been expressly agreed to in writing.
In talk therapy and psychological counseling, sessions are conducted in a therapy room and may be supplemented with exercises. After an initial in-person consultation, therapy sessions may also take place via video conference.
In equine-assisted therapy, care and maintenance activities (such as grooming, feeding, and stable work) as well as guided activities with the horse (including petting and massaging the horse, leading exercises, groundwork, liberty work, riding, and exercises using objects and obstacles) are carried out in the stable, on the premises, and outdoors. All activities serve the individual and optimal support of the client and their therapeutic goals. If behavioral issues of the client’s privately owned horse—if such a horse is used—are included in the therapeutic process, the exercises may also serve the development and behavioral correction of the client’s horse. If the horse’s behavior poses a risk to the people involved or to the horse itself, Katharina Gleißberg may terminate the session at any time.
Therapy or counseling is entered into voluntarily by the client and may be discontinued by the client at any time at their own discretion.
All appointments are binding and must be canceled by phone or in writing at least 24 hours in advance. If this notice is not given, the full fee will be charged.
Appointments that are not canceled in due time by the client will not be rescheduled.
The client is entitled to a make-up appointment if the appointment is canceled by Katharina Gleißberg.
Therapy sessions begin on time. If the client arrives late, the session will be shortened by the length of the delay. The full session fee remains payable even in the event of late arrival or if the client does not appear at all.
Equine-assisted therapy generally takes place in all weather conditions. If a therapy session must be canceled due to weather conditions, illness of the horse, or illness of Katharina Gleißberg, the session will be rescheduled.
Fees are due immediately after the session and must be paid by bank transfer.
Current information regarding fees and the duration of sessions can be found on the website under “Costs.”
According to Section 4 (14) of the German VAT Act (UStG), no value-added tax (VAT) is charged for therapeutic services. For psychological counseling, no VAT is charged in accordance with Section 19 of the German VAT Act (UStG).
Katharina Gleißberg does not bill any third-party payers directly. The client is responsible for payment of the full invoiced amount.
If a third-party payer may be involved, the client is solely responsible for obtaining information and for submitting any applications for reimbursement or cost approval. Katharina Gleißberg’s involvement is expressly limited to preparing a cost plan and issuing invoices for the services rendered, if required. Non-reimbursement or partial reimbursement by a third-party payer has no effect on the agreed fee or on the resulting payment claims of Katharina Gleißberg.
Any statements made by Katharina Gleißberg regarding reimbursement practices of third parties are non-binding. The scope of services provided by Katharina Gleißberg as a Heilpraktiker for Psychotherapy is not limited to reimbursable services.
Talk therapy sessions take place in the practice premises or via video conference.
Equine-assisted therapy using a provided therapy horse takes place in Mainz at the farm where the therapy horse is kept. The selection of the horse used for equine-assisted therapy is at the sole discretion of Katharina Gleißberg; there is no entitlement to a specific horse. Mobile equine-assisted therapy using the client’s privately owned horse takes place at the location where the horse is kept. Katharina Gleißberg will travel to that location. Travel expenses will be charged; the amount of these travel costs is listed on the website under “Costs.”
Equine-assisted therapy takes place in the stable, on the premises, and outdoors. Clothing and personal items may become soiled by dust, mud, manure, hay, animal hair, or similar substances. The client is responsible for cleaning and for any resulting damage.
All information provided in the intake questionnaire and medical history must be truthful and complete. Any changes, new illnesses, relapses, medications, pregnancy, limitations, or circumstances—especially those that impair the ability to participate in equine-assisted therapy—must be disclosed immediately and without being requested.
The client is responsible for ensuring that their vaccinations are complete and up to date. In particular, tetanus vaccination should be current.
If the client is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medications that affect driving ability, the operation of machinery, or reaction time, Katharina Gleißberg must be informed. In such cases, the therapy session will not take place. There is no entitlement to a refund or a make-up appointment.
During equine-assisted therapy, the client is required to dress appropriately for the weather. Sturdy, water-resistant footwear with non-slip soles must be worn.
If a session takes place in low-light conditions or darkness, a high-visibility safety vest must be worn outdoors.
For activities in which the client is seated on the horse’s back, the client is required to wear a riding helmet and a protective riding vest.
Before and after equine-assisted therapy sessions, staying on the equestrian facility premises is at the client’s own risk. Parental supervision or supervision by caregivers is required. Please behave calmly, keep dogs on a leash, and maintain a safe distance from horses and other animals. Petting or feeding horses or other animals, as well as entering stables, paddocks, or pastures, is not permitted.
Horses are prey animals and may react unpredictably and suddenly despite training and professional handling. A residual risk cannot be entirely excluded.
During equine-assisted therapy sessions, the client is required to follow the instructions of Katharina Gleißberg immediately and in full.
Therapy sessions are conducted with the exclusion of any warranties and liability to the extent permitted by law. Katharina Gleißberg shall be indemnified internally against claims by third parties, in particular claims by health and social insurance providers, insofar as such claims are not covered by the client’s liability insurance.
Liability for damages to the client arising from failure to follow the instructions of Katharina Gleißberg, these General Terms and Conditions, or from the client’s own misconduct or negligence is excluded. Any damages resulting from such behavior will be charged to the party responsible.
Katharina Gleißberg shall not be liable for damage to, loss of, or theft of personal items brought by the client.
The client is advised to maintain private liability and accident insurance that covers riding-related accidents.
Katharina Gleißberg is bound by professional confidentiality requirements as a licensed alternative practitioner (Heilpraktiker).
Client data is treated as confidential. Information regarding therapy or counseling, including related circumstances and the client’s personal situation, will be disclosed only with the client’s explicit consent.
The requirement for written consent may be waived if the disclosure is in the client’s best interest and the client has given verbal consent to a release from confidentiality.
For disclosures to third-party payers, family members, physicians, psychotherapists, or other institutions, Katharina Gleißberg must be released from confidentiality by the client in writing.
Exceptions to confidentiality include the prevention or prosecution of suspected criminal offenses and the protection of higher legal interests. Confidentiality does not apply where disclosure is required by law, for example in the case of certain diagnoses under the German Infection Protection Act, or pursuant to official or court orders.
Talk therapy and equine-assisted therapy can, depending on the diagnosis or issue, be used as standalone therapies or as complementary therapies. Both approaches can be helpful for many psychological disorders.
For complementary therapy, approval from the client’s physician or psychotherapist is required. Collaboration with the treating psychotherapist or physician is generally encouraged.
The client is obligated, in all cases, to have their physical and psychological symptoms evaluated by a physician first and to obtain confirmation that talk therapy or equine-assisted therapy is safe. For certain diagnoses, a medical certificate is required (e.g., contraindications for riding therapy, moderate to severe psychological disorders).
Katharina Gleißberg makes no promises of healing. All methods and activities used in talk or equine-assisted therapy are intended to improve symptoms and help achieve the therapy goals agreed upon with the client.
During equine-assisted therapy sessions, videos or photos may be taken. These are used for communication with the client or for documentation of the sessions and will not be shared with third parties.
If the client provides explicit written consent, videos, screenshots from videos, or photos may be used on my website, social media, or in print media. This consent can be revoked at any time in writing.
The client confirms that they are at least 18 years old and fully legally competent.
If this is not the case, the client’s legal representative or guardian must provide consent on their behalf. Only the law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies.
Changes to the General Terms and Conditions (GTC) will be communicated to the client in writing and published on the website. Changes are considered accepted if the client does not object in writing to Katharina Gleißberg within 14 days of receiving the notice.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient to send the withdrawal on time. The withdrawal must be sent by post to: Katharina Gleißberg, Heidelbergerfaßgasse 14, 55116 Mainz, Germany, or by email to therapie@mindsoul.space
Any side agreements must be in writing to be effective.
Should any provision of these General Terms and Conditions (GTC) be or become wholly or partially invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. The wholly or partially invalid provision shall be replaced by a provision whose effect comes as close as possible to that of the invalid provision.
The place of performance for all mutual claims and the jurisdiction is Mainz, Germany.
